Dear Summer Camp Co-ordinator,

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) of the Toronto and East York District, Adapted and Integrated services of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation is hosting a special needs summer camp fair for Toronto and GTA families on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 5-8pm. We invite you to participate in this camp fair and represent your agency or organization at an information booth. The camp fair will be open to any interested families and caregivers in the GTA. Our goal is to bring together representatives of day camps in Toronto and the GTA and overnight camps from all over Ontario that serve children, youth and young adults with disabilities. Please feel free to bring along information about your year-long services as well.

Many families struggle year after year with the big question of what to do over the long 9 weeks of summer vacation. Finding a summer placement appropriate for a child's special needs can be an exhaustive, frustrating exercise in addition to the day-to-day struggles that families with children of special needs already face. The camp fair is a great opportunity for families to learn about camp organizations and groups offering summer programming for the special needs population. Parents and caregivers can browse your booths, talk to your agency staff, and plan ahead for summer.

The camp fair is free to both exhibitors and families. The Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation division will be arranging the community centre venue, tables for exhibitors and light refreshments for all.

We hope you will join us February 21st, 2007 at Wallace Emerson Community Centre, 1260 Dufferin St at Dupont (near the Galleria). If your agency or organization is interested in participating in this wonderful opportunity, please reply by February 7, 2007. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Serena De Souza by email to or by phone at 416-397-4690.

We look forward to your participation in this special event!
