W. Ross Macdonald Lead Ontario To Goalball Title

Three students from W. Ross Macdonald School sparked Ontario to the Canadian junior women's goalball championship here on the weekend.

Ontario defeated Alberta 7-2 in the championship game.

Goalball is a game played by visually impaired and blind athletes.

Sarah Hargraves and Cassie Orgeles each scored three goals for the champions and Stephanie Leach got one goal. All of the goal-scorers are students at WRM.

The Ontario team was coached by Traci MacPhee, Whitney Burk and Bob Mannen of Brantford.

Quebec defeated Ontario 14-12 in the national junior men's championship game.

Ramone Outar, a former student at WRM, scored eight goals for Ontario. Dylan Johnson and Hrvoje Bukovac each scored two goals. Both players are current students at WRM.

The Ontario men's team was coached by Mike Breuls and Brian Cheevers of Brantford.
